| Is Ivanpah Valley Airport destined to be the world's first fully sustainable international airport? |
| The A380 will be using Ivanpah Valley Airport. |
|
|
| Of course, the question is, will Ivanpah Valley Airport ultimately get built? |
What does it mean to imagine, design and construct a totally new international airport near the Nevada-California
border that is entirely sustainable, extremely efficient and extraordinarily attractive?
Only
two new international airports have been built in the United States in the last 40 years - Dallas-Fort Worth and Denver International.
The proposed Ivanpah Valley Airport will be the next one. But it will not open until at least 2018, and if it is anything
less than fully green, deeply captivating and dramatically forward-looking, it will not be worthy of construction. If
it is not built to be operational for 50 years into the future, it will not be a success. Ivanpah Valley Airport
will be a gargantuan and mind-stretching undertaking. (8/8/08).
